Decision Making and the Spirit’s Leading

The Hand in Hand Illustration

We walk with God in partnership. The Lord guides but He does not seek to control. He desires that we develop as people, in love, through making godly decisions. He desires that we develop in faith through walking with Jesus, led by His Spirit.

This partnership with God is seen as we walk hand in hand. Our hand holding to His hand. The very picture is one of a life of trust.

The Spirit Leads

Godly Decisions

The Lord commends those who walk in godly wisdom.  James 3

13 If you are wise and understand God's ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom. ... 17 But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere.18 And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.*

The Lord promises that He will lead us.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the LORD with all your heart;

  do not depend on your own understanding.

6 Seek his will in all you do,

  and he will show you which path to take.
